Hands & Voices: Non-biased Support for Families of Children Who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing

Hands & Voices is a national, parent driven non-profit organization that includes parents of different means of communication. The organization values diversity and honors parents while creating a safe place to explore options and receive unbiased support. Parents learn from each other and are linked by their common interest related to raising a child who is deaf or hard of hearing. More information about the national organization can be viewed at www.handsandvoices.org.

Now is an excellent time for parents to become involved in creating and extending our organization that meet families needs. Future activities may include outreach events, educational seminars, advocacy, parent-to-parent networking, and a newsletter. By connecting families with resources and information, informed decisions can be made around the issues of deafness and hearing loss.

We are an organization dedicated to non-biased support to families who have children who are deaf or hard of hearing.  We will provide activities and information statewide to parents and professionals that may include outreach events, educational seminars, advocacy support, parent-to-parent networking and newsletters.  We believe that families will make the best choices for the child if they have access to good information and support.  Our organization represents people who use a variety of languages and varying approaches to communication and assistive technology.
