Keep Calm & Ask Me: Ask an Audiologist

This event is an opportunity to have a casual conversation and ask questions with two audiologists who have volunteered to host our event.

Dr. Samantha Kesteloot is an educational audiologist with Trenton's Oral Program for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing. She graduated from Wayne State University's Audiology program in 2020 after completing her externship at the Central Institute for the Deaf in St. Louis, Missouri. Her hearing loss was identified at the age of 4 after which she was fit with bilateral hearing aids. In 2017 Sam decided to be implanted with a hybrid cochlear implant. She enjoys spending time with her friends, traveling, and remaining involved in volunteer activities for kids/families with hearing loss.

Anita Vereb, PhD/CCC-A, is an audiologist at the University of Michigan Health/Michigan Medicine, Pediatric Audiology Department and Cochlear Implant Team. She provides educational audiology consultant services to Washtenaw Intermediate School District. Dr. Vereb earned a BS degree in Education of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and MS degree in Audiology from Clarion University of Pennsylvania. She completed her PhD in Educational Studies, with a focus in literacy, language and culture, from the University of Michigan. Her research interests include language and literacy development in children who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing.
