About the Event
FREE! 13-18 year olds will meet Deaf, DeafBlind and Hard of Hearing Adults and get to know other students from around the state. Short panel and open discussion format. More online sessions are planned with the hope of moving to in-person in the future. Adult mentors will vary at each event. All levels of hearing loss/deafness, and all languages/communication modes are welcome. 7:30pm-8:30pm. This event is a collaboration between Michigan Deaf Association, DBCentral, and Michigan Hands & Voices.
This event will be facilitated by Jenna Giesey, President of Michigan Deaf Association. Jenna is certified in Middle School & High School Sports Coaching (renewed annually), and:
- Mandated Reporting Training
- Anxiety training
- Big Brothers & Big Sisters of America Mentor Program, 3 Years
- Several tutoring and teaching assistant roles, Grade 5 - college level courses
